Hi, looking for a place to buy the Iroquois New Standard Arithmetics
books for grade one- "How Many, How Much" and grade two, "Let's find
out".

The Iroquois New Standard Arithmetics books are from the 1940's, were
written by David H. Patton, William E. Young, Harry de Groat and
others. The series is available in two parts: by grade 1-8, or by
book 1-3. Oddly, though, book one is grade 3 & 4, and the first two
grades (which I'm looking for) are sold as separate books.

I'm looking for a bookstore which has grade one, which is titled "How
Many? How Much?" and grade two, which is titled "Let's Find Out" for
sale.

Hmm - my previous posts aren't exactly models of clarity, so please
allow me to rephrase the question:

I would like to buy the Iroquois New Standard Arithmetics books for
GRADES one and two. I've already ordered BOOKS 1 through 3 in the
"Five-Book Series" (confusingly, there's also a "Series by Grades"),
and none of those are for grades one or two.

Please tell me which books in the series are designed for grades one
and two, and where I can purchase these books.

I believe, but am not certain, that: (1) these are two separate books,
one for each grade, (2) they are both part of the "Enlarged Edition",
(3) they were printed in the late 1940's or earlier, (4) they are
titled "How Many? How Much?" (for grade one) and "Let's Find Out" (for
grade two), and (5) they are actually "prequels" to Books 1 through 3
in the "Five-Book Series"; in other words, they would be Books -1 and
0 in that series if the publisher had assigned them numbers, which it
apparently did not.

If $10 isn't enough to make the answer worth your while, please say
so, and I will take that into consideration. Thanks!

Here's a bit more information on the book:

TITLE:
Iroquois new standard arithmetics, by David H. Patton and William E. Young.
PUBLISHED:
    Syracuse, N.Y. : Iroquois Pub. Co., (c1949-
DESCRIPTION:
    v. illus. 30 cm.
NOTES:
Contents: (gr. 1) How many? How much? -- (gr. 2) Let's find out.

I am not sure whether it is one or two books (or possibly it was
released both ways). Either version is fine with me.

there are several editions of Iroquois New Standard Arithmetics. I have numerous
books. 1947 Copyright, if that is what you are looking for? Primary gardes were:
  "How Many?How Much?- grade 1, "Let's Find Out" - Grade 2
Book One grades 3and 4,Two Grades 5 and 6, Book Three Grades 7 and 8. There
were also workbooks "Building with Numbers, grade 3", "Follow the
Signs,grade 4",'Arithmetic Tool Chest,grade 5", "How and Why of
Arithmetic,grade 6",
"Arithmetic in Action, grade 7", "Arithmetic and Life, grade 8". While I have
a 1929 Iroquois Arithmetic Book three,grade 7 & 8 grade ( my late Mothers),
I also have the 1938 edition of Book One grades 3,4,5- this is the BEST Iroquois
text I have seen, clearly explains, as well as 1947 editions of grades 3,4,5,6.
Too bad the company is no longer in business...that I am aware of. Try used book
stores, check with schools both public and catholic, as both used it. Good luck!
If you find any of the grade 1 or 2 books let me know. If I do I will
let you know. Thanks!
