I purchased a new laptop and it came with a 60 day trial version of MS
Office 2003. I removed the trial version but I guess the registry did
not change. When I try to load Office 2003 now, (not Trial) the
applications work for reading files only...all buttons are greyed out.
I have un-installed and installed a couple of times but no luck. Can
someone tell me how to fix this problem or what to change in the
registry? BTW, the 2003 Trial does not show up in the Add/Remove
programs.

How did you remove the trial version if you say "the 2003 Trial does
not show up in the Add/Remove programs."?

Here's a suggestion to try. Download the trial version again here:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx

Then convert your trial to the full version that you have without
uninstalling the trial version. Here's an explanation on how to do
this:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/trial/convert.mspx

Let me know if that works.

Best regards,

I first deleted the Trial Version from the Add/Remove programs. Hence
it does not show up anymore. I assumed this would completely delete
the trial version but apparently it did not.
