On page 60 of Robert Baer's book Sleeping with the Devil, the author
states that Saudi Arabia holds a "trillion dollars or so in the U.S.
stock market."

My two part question is this:
  1) Is this true? (please point to some corroborating sources); and
  2) How much is the total U.S. stock market worth? (total market cap
of U.S. stock market)

Thanks!

Because of the increasing costs of production and the incredible
increase in population, Saudi Arabia has a lower percapita income than
Spain.

As for Saudi holdings, those are mostly held very confidentially but
perhaps someone can supply an answer.
