I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get smooth gradient
.gif's that don't band. I use Firework's and have tried every option
available (I think) without success.

Somebody please bring me in the loop so I'm not thinking about this
during Christmas.

TIA

Go to your export wizard. Theres a pop up that will allow you to
choose format. It will bring up a screen preselecting JPEG, scroll
down to select gif. This is the trial and error part the top image is
the preview of the saved image. Format should be GIF, Palette should
be exact, Loss should be 0, put a check in the dither box and make
sure it is at 100%, there should be no trans, towards the bottom make
sure "remove unused colors" is NOT checked and check off interlaced
browser display. As you follow these steps youll get better image.
