okay the situation is this I got at least one (and postibly mroe comming)
USB device that I want to have sitting up stairs. however my problem
is I really can't have a "noisy" computer up there for it to connect
to. I looked in to that USB over IP and the units I found seemed
rather expensive.
I do have an 802.11g network setup, or I could just as eaisly plug it
into a wired eithernet conection, as stringing a eithernet cable
between where it would be sitting and my AP is not a problem as they
happen to be verry nearby each other.
now my question is it somehow posible that I can plug these usb
devices into somethng up there, and then have a computer downstairs
think that those devices where plugged into it. and pull this feet off
for at or under $100 (perfebly under)

I've recommended this device for two questions related to notebooks
with 16 bit PC card slots who want USB. This is practically one of the
only ones available to do what you ask... look for www.amazon.com's
(ASIN: B0001NA3L2) It's called a Keyspan US4A. It is a USB server for
a network. It retails for about $100...

ooh thanks. that does look to do what I'm looking for, and the price
is one dollar under the price limit. that saves me a good $120 over
the ones I could find.
