Hi,

Not always. Depends on their prominance and histology. Sometimes
usually mean that the morphology of the GI tract is that so the
lacteals either appear swollen or enlarged. They carry chyle
(processed food in the small intestine) and fatty substances to
thoracic arteries and ducts to be processed by the liver. There are
lots of good sites on the Hepato-biliary system.

See your doc though, if you're still unsure.
