I did a search for ?indexindicator? and it came up with ?Audio Player?. Nothing for ?indexindicator.exe? though. You could try disabling the file by renaming it and see if anything dies -- though Windows in its infinite wisdom (not) might name it back. Best |

...... but of course you could only rename it from DOS when it wasn?t running. |

Hi Guzzi-ga, I have renamed the file to indexindicator1.exe. This has stopped it showing in the running processes and nothing appears to have died. I just do not like not knowing what something is, especially an executable file that alters some registry settings. Jack465 |

Hi, This is a spyware file.. even though you having Trend Micro Antivirus installed but spyware are smart enough to invade that too. Go and get Stinger.exe Utility from Mcafee site : http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Run it and see the result. Cheers!! Sanjay |

Hi all, Thank you for your comments. I have eventualy stopped this file re appearing on my system. I did this by disabling WinXP restore function (so all restore points are removed) then delete the files and registry entries. Then switched restore back on after a restart. I have also changed to Mcafee virus scan, I also run Ad-Ware and now spybot as well. Unfortunatly the Mcafee stinger software did not find indexindicator either. Jack465 |
