You can sell or rent a domain name (if you own it).

Try: http://www.sedo.com - where you can sell your domain name and park it.

Yes, it is perfectly legal to sell your domain after you have
registered it. When you sell your domain, the company that your sale
goes through (like www.tdnam.com or www.afternic.com) will have the
domain transfered to the buyer and will change the domain name the the
new oencer's information. Let me know if you have any additional
