Some of the economic and social commentators emphasise the importance of globalisation. I mean, there are loaaaaaaads of anti-globalisation and anti-capitalist groups around all over the world. So is it a positive thing to be against or for the anti globalisation/capitalist groups? What is globalisation in the political sense? Do we make sense of this as an economic and politcal phenomenon?[globalisation and branding] |

Your question seems clear except you need to explain the word branding as it applies to globalization. In my opinion, nearly all of society will regret globalization. Sooner or later, bad effects will be used as an excuse for escalatating one world government which will be controled by the rich and powerful with essentually no input from common folks. We should instead be thinking more power to villages and neigborhoods so we can do many small pilot programs and retain the ability to move if we don't like the government. With a one world government, a one size fits all will be the usual practice and our complaints will fall on deaf ears. Big everthing is bad with rare exceptions. Neil |
