My question is simple:  I'm asking for more information on a certain type of woman.

The problem is, I don't know what "type" this is.  Meaning, I don't
have an exact 'term' for this 'type' of woman.  I will have to use
some generalizations to describe them, but from my own personal
experience, all of these things seem to fit perfectly.

I've always been attracted to women who had short hair, usually
brunette, who are very aggressive and 'hard to deal with.'  They are
typically firey, fiesty, smoke cigarettes, and most of them liked to
drink. They're usually lacking in loyalty, but when it comes to having
a good time they're right on par.  I grew up in a household full of
chaos (typically caused by my mother who shares many of the same
qualities), and I find myself drawn to women who cause me a lot of
trouble.  Trouble such as long arguments (that usually do do get
resolved), heated fights (three of these women, all of the 'type' I'm
speaking of, have either choked or slapped me at one point), and
periods of complete avoidance (i.e., they ignore me completely, or
sometimes I would ignore them completely).

Terms for these women are sometimes the "bitch" the "femme fatale."  I
simply haven't been able to find any true resource on this type of
woman, despite knowing more than ten of them who fit the description
completely.  I've made some lasting friendships with these women, but
they still show the same kind of restlessness in friendships (the
ignoring, attitudes, fights, etc).  I can list some celebrities that
fit the bill completely, if that would help:

Winona Ryder, Teri Hatcher, Rachel Leigh Cook, and Ashley Judd.

One of these friends of mine (of the type) gave me an interesting
tid-bit.  She told me that a few of these famous women had played
women named "Lane" in various movies.  Her name, in fact, is Lane(y). 
The first girl of this type that I dated had the middle name "Lane." 
Also, there was a character in a video game who fit the description
named Ellena.  I'm just throwing things out there that may help to
find some type of resource for this esoteric question.  I feel like it
would help me to understand myself, since I imprinted my mother's
qualities far more than my father's (who was never really there).

But, fortunately, I have a flair for inventing new categories.

I hereby call them 'Rod Riley Types' because they were the sort that
Rod preferred even though they always meant trouble.

I'm perplexed about your reason for the question re: above...your past
does not have to be an indication of your future--unless you let it
be. Get a grip, try a blonde on for size; if you're old enough, get
out of your house and start a new life for yourself, and stop playing
Freud. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and
over again and getting--duh--the same result! You can do it!!
