I am looking for someone to help with the attribution of this painting.

It is a small oil painting, 6 inches by 9 1/2 inches.  The painting
itself is a piece of canvas that was cut and then attached to a wood
board.  The subject is a pastorel scene of cows grazing by pond.


There is a signiture in the lower left corner of the picture.  I have
tried deciphring it without success.  I would like someone to decipher
the name on the painting and relate it to a known artist. There is a
chance that this is an unknown artist whose name cannot be cross
referenced to anything.  However the picture seems to be done with
good skill and I believe/hope the artist will have some mention
somewhere.  In the case of the artist being untraceable, I will pay
half the reward for deciphering the signiture into a known surname.

Can't identify name as an artist.
Name looks a bit like "Cris/Chris Rainger" or "Cris/Chris Raikker or something.
