Not just where I could purchase it, but anywhere I could get it
whether a purchase or freeware! It is for Wordperfect 8!

Hi sea2see,

it seems that your best bet is to try to contact Corel directly:

Here is the relevant portion of their press release:

"Corel Corporation, producer and marketer of the popular Corel®
WordPerfect® line of business productivity software, today announced
the availability of the new Corel® WordPerfect® Language Module which
now also includes Corel WordPerfect 8 language components. Available
for a suggested retail price of US $49.99, the package can be
purchased through local retail outlets or Corel Customer Service at
1-800-77-COREL. Prices subject to change without notice."

from http://www.corel.com/news/1998/february/languagemodule1.htm

I did not find any other (legal) sources of the language pack, which
also contains your dictionary. If this is not what you are actually
looking for (there are some third party Spanish language add-ons
available), feel free to ask for clarification.

I hope this helps!

I talked with Corel this morning and they don't offer that anymore
that is the reason I wanted to see if there is anywhere else I can get
if from. You can check the time you sent out your answer and verify
that the 188 number was shut down at that time so as to confirm I
already had Corel answer.

Oh by the way, if you know of some third party offerings I would be
very interested in that information!

Hi sea2see,

I'm sorry that the number didn't work anymore (I can't check 1-800
numbers from where I live). I'll list a few of the third party
products for you:

Spellink 2002 Spanish
Allows spell-checking of texts independant of the application.
http://www.smartlinkcorp.com/w95/proof/spellinksp/faq.shtml

El Corrector
Integrates with Wordperfect and should offer roughly the same options
as the language pack.
http://www.machinasapiens.com/anglais/pdf/ELC_AE.pdf

Word Translator for Windows
It seems like this program can either be used for translations or for
as a dictionary.

pinkfreud's link might be an option, too - but the catalogue is from
July 27, 1998, so I doubt that they still have those items (or that
that company still exists). Your best bet in locating an actual copy
of the CD might lie with EBay ( http://www.ebay.com ) - various
posters claim that it is being sold there from time to time.

I have found an interesting thread on usenet though:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=3c2c71a4%241_3%40cnews&rnum=5&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dwordperfect%2B%2522language%2Bmodule%2522%2B8%26hl%3Dde%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26scoring%3Dd
If you go to the last post there, you can read that apparently Corel
doesn't have any problem with you copying the language module CD from
somebody else who has it as long as you own a WP8 CD.
You might want to confirm that with them before actually asking for a
copy (the guy in post 2 on that page seemed willing to supply such a
copy for the poor people who are in a situation like yours)

BTW: I just wanted to make sure that you have the Windows version of
WP8 and not the Linux one (I didn't even know there was one - but
language modules for that one are available for download)

Another option might be upgrading to WPO2000 or 2002 which apparently
have Spanish language modules included. 2000 is available on EBay (
http://www.ebay.com ) for about 10 $US (much less than the language
modules on CD cost when they were available). 2002 sells for less than
the original price of the language module, too.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you more. Corel itself has declared WP8
"obsolete software" which they don't support anymore and recommend
upgrading. If you are dissatisfied with my service, you can ask google
for a refund.

Should there be any other question on the subject, feel free to ask
for further clarification.
