Hello I am very distressed. I recorded some footage today with my friends and we played it back a couple of times and it was fine. Then we went out and recorded a bit more footage (it was raining at this time, though I don't see how the tape could have been affected) and played it back, fine. When I got home to look back at the footage, I rewound the tape and played it back. To my shock there were six vertical lines that ran through the footage, which I had just hours ago looked at and seen was perfectly fine. The lines run all through the footage. Please help me, how can I get rid of the lines? Would putting the tape in another digital video camera solve the problem? I don't care about the camera, just getting this footage back from the tape, it also seems to be going a bit faster than before aswell I think... I found someone who has taken a series of screenshots when they had the same problem, they just said that their one fixed itself after a while, but I don't have a while as this is for important coursework!: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/bscampbell/P1101450.jpg Mine doesn't have the pink dots though. thanks | |

This is generally a sign that the head is dirty. You should try cleaning it with a cleaning tape recommended for your camera. Alternatively, if a cleaner is not available, if some tape has shed and clogged the head you can sometimes "clean it off" with another tape by putting it in and then playing and then fast previewing or reviewing which can scrub the loose gunk off the heads. |
