This is a bit off the wall, but I'm unable to identify this strange
kitchen utensil. I'm guessing that it may be a pickle picker, or an
egg grabber, but I'm unable to verify it because I can't find it
anywhere.

The photo shows an ice cube grabber (which can, of course, also be
used to grab sugar cubes and the like). I have not been able to find
exactly that model, but you can get a very similar one that works
exactly the same from Amazon. The price is $5.99:
