I am looking for the names of five prominent (for whom I could find a good deal of information on the web) "educational theorists," excluding Dewey, Piaget, Gardner and Vygotsky. I prefer those who do not focus on very small children but rather middle and high school age. Thanks. |

Hi ebillar, On the basis of a web search, I suggest: B. F. Skinner Robert Gagné Jerome Bruner Albert Bandura Benjamin Bloom Backup/also ran: Edward Thorndike If some of those don't work for you, you can find more ideas in the following pages, which were among those I reviewed in composing my list: Learning Theory Resources: A Collection, by Marsha L. Burmeister, Ed.D. http://www.nova.edu/~burmeist/learning_theory.html Educational Theory Handbook, by Andrew Mclain Boatman http://www.theshop.net/aboatman/edtheory.htm A List for Educators: Influences Over One Hundred Years, by Maureen Connolly http://asstudents.unco.edu/students/AE-Extra/2000/1/ma-m.htm --efn |
