I would like to know more about the companies that sell credit cards
in shopping centers, and on college campuses. You know, the ones that
offer a token gift in exchange for completing a credit card
application.

It is my understanding that these are private companies who work on
behalf of various card issuers such as banks.

1) Please provide at least five examples of companies who are
currently in this line of business in the U.S. and/or Canada (with
website links)
2) How is the company remunerated by the card issuer? (For example,
per successful sale, by the hour, or a combination). Basically, I
would like to know how much a credit card sale is worth to the card
issuer.
4) Roughly how much rent must the company pay for temporary table
space in a shopping centre? On a college campus?

Other relevant info on this line of business is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!

Just a personal opinion on these services:

I would NEVER give info to a service like this that was not located in
an actual bank...the amount of private info that is given to these
'rent an employee' (check Monster.com and such to see how many of
these 'jobs' are farmed out to Temp agencies) companies to sign up new
cards is scary. If I worked for one of these companies in a mall I
could sell each persons personal info
(Name/Address/Phone/Dependants/Income/Employer/SIN or
SSN/Birthdates/other CC numbers! and more) for ALOT more than what I
would get paid in commissions.

It isn't worth a new Tshirt to give away all that info folks.
