The popularity of the book "The da Vinci Code" has brought the topics of Phi, The Golden Section and Fibonacci Numbers to the dining tables of many friends. The subject does appear elsewhere in past GA's questions. I am hoping to find observations from you which may not have been mentioned already. I trust that the Physicists and Scientists out there will humour me in my new found interest. Of greater interest is the observations other laymen and laywomen may observe in everyday life. For the uninitiated, my understanding of and reference to Phi is as follows: Phi is the infinite ratio Phi like infinity can be approached, yet never reached Phi appears in nature and is copied in design Phi is used to measure universal perceived beauty Pineapples, irrational numbers, rabbits, seashells, turtles, spirals, pyramids, triangles, human bodies, insects, pentagons and flowers relate to Phi. Might the bricks in your house for example have a ratio of 1.618 length to height or depth? What else do you see? Phi(l) |

silver777 (aka Mr. Lucky), The Fibonacci Retracement is used by stock traders---especially technical analysts. Don't know if it actually works, though. Warm regards, ron |

I have long been fascinated by Avogadro's Number, from the field of molarity. And, of course, there's always Avocado's Number, from the field of guacamolarity. |
