I am using Roxio 5.0 Easy CD Creator and am trying to make copies of 2 programs I have for safe keeping. I have gone through a box of cd's before I realized what was happening. I burn from the cd-rom on Drive D which is a Creative CD5233E onto a NEC NR-7700A WHICH IS Drive E This process works but when I put the burned cd into the cdrom to check it the cdrom does not recognize the cd. If I put it back in the burner on drive E it works fine. I have never had this happen before now. Any cd's I have burned previously work OK. Any suggestions? I have not downloaded nor changed anything to do with either cd drives or software. I will need a simple explanation for this as I am not a techie. Also I am using two different brands of cd's. |

http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/software_updatesv5_2.jhtml Maybe try updateing the software to 5.3.5 it might cure your problem. It's been a while since I used that program but there was something about a setting that if used it would always read on the burned drive but might not work on other drives. It might have had something to do with the directcd. |

I have Easy CD Creator v5.0 too... if I remember correctly, unless you chose the option to "make the CD readable from ANY CD Rom" you'll need to install Easy CD Creator onto the other Computer to read the CD's... Try it. You can always uninstall if there's no difference. ~~Cynthia |

Thanks for the two tips, first of all I cannot upgrade to 5.3.5 because I am told I have to have Platinum 5.0 first and I don't. As for the second suggestion there is only one computer involved. I have found out that I can recognize cd's in the CD-ROM as long as they are "original" but if they have been burned they are not recognized. I even downloaded NERO to try and it is the same thing so maybe it is not a software or configuration problem but a hardware problem. Sure seems strange though why it is only the burned copies it will not recognize. |
