We have developed a 30 minute show for TV. We have a pilot already in
the can shot in HD. We're trying to find a way to pitch it to a number
of cable networks, i.e. Fine Living, Discovery Home, A & E, Discovery
HD, HGTV, etc. We have heard there are "pitch men" that have
relationships to various networks. Is there a way to find a list of
them? The other approach, presenting it directly to a network, is very
limited. They want all kinds of signed documents, waivers, etc., and
even then it appears that we're not really going to get anywhere as
we're meeting with interns! Any suggestions?

There are a variety of avenues you can take to pitch your project to
buyers of TV Show Concepts and Projects. First, do the research to
know what companies and networks are doing what types of projects.
www.studiosystem.com is a terrific (although pricey) tool for
monitoring and cross referenceing companies, shows, producers and
projects.

You can also approach producers direct for assistance. Some do
freelance work in development and pitching projects. One of note is
www.Manville-Ent.com , Manville is a professional developer of
concepts for television with direct ties to various network and cable
network outlets. They do work-for-hire development and pitching.

An alternative device for direct exposure to production companies
buying projects are two web-based archives used by the television
industry for finding new material. www.Realityshowpitch.TV , and
www.TVwritersVault.com are both open to professional and aspiring
writers for use in marketing to buyers. They charge a nominal fee for
inclusion of your project in the database, but provide electronic
proof of review by any company scouting titles and projects.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for your advise. I'll check out the links you provided. In the
mean time, we have got two top contacts at one of the networks we
believe is a prime target for our show. Any other help or advise would
be appreciated. Dennis
