I have not found "monotheocratically" in any reference sources.
However, I can speculate that it would be an adverb meaning "in a
manner characterized by monotheocratic rule."

"Monotheocratic" is an adjective referring to a state or nation
governed by one God, or by officials of a religion whose tenets state
that there is only one God (examples of such religions: Judaism,
Christianity, Islam).

Hi Kass,

Was your word found in conversation or written? It sounds like a
hybrid of monotheistic and autocrat with the "ally" added to form an
adjective to describe one's beliefs.

"He remained monotheocratically adamant in his beliefs" .. or ..

"He was adamant in his monotheistic beliefs".

Perhaps your speaker or writer became a little too enthusiastic with
attempts at an eight syllable word.

For the Answers crew, the reference I ran across for this word is the
answer to "The Mensa Puzzle Calendar 2005," Saturday, Jan 1st. The
true explanation may appear on Jan 2nd on www.pageaday.com when you
register this calendar. I believe the only official contact on this
publication must go through Workman Publishing Company.

Here is my breakdown of how I interpet it:

"Theocracy" (n) is in the dictionary as a form of government that uses
the belief in a diety or dieties as the ultimate rulers. The rest of
the word are legitimate prefixes and suffixes that build on the root
word.

The suffix "-ic" means "like" or "akin to." "Theocratic" (n, adj)
would describe something run like a theocracy, like a "theocratic
society."

Mono- means singular, so theat "monotheocratic" (n, adj) should mean
akin to a single theocracy (as opposed to freedom of religion) in the
same way monochromatic means of a single color.

Finally, the "-ally" suffix creates an adverb that explains "how" the
subject acts with the verb. "Monotheocratically" would then be "in
the manner akin to a single theocracy."

(My answer to the same puzzle was minitheocratically, which is also
missing from the dictionary. The dictionary simply doesn't combine
every word with every valid prefix and suffix)
