Hi there -- I've got a small home network with a PowerBook G4 (OSX
10.3.7) and three Windows XP boxes. I can easily mount the three
Windows hard drive shares on my Mac (amazing that the Mac networks
better with Windows than Windows does!!), but whenever I reboot, it
loses those connections.

Is there a way I can have the Mac "remember" these mounted servers each time?

Before doing anything, you will need to have the server folders
mounted. You'll then need to go to System Preferences which is
located in your "Applications" folder. After System Preferences
launches, click on the "Accounts" preference pane. Select the user
that you want to auto-mount something with, probably yourself, and
click on the "Startup Items" button near the top of the pane. Click
on the plus button near the bottom to add a startup item. You'll be
presented with a browser window, at which point you'll want to browse
to the network folder. Add that folder by cliking on the "Add"
button. Make sure that the folder has a check mark next to it and
then reboot.

Thanks Villaged -- that worked like a charm! Please feel free to
"answer" that formally if you're a researcher. Also, I'd love to know
how to rename those shares on my desktop if that's possible. Right
now, they're called the rather ugly "SERVER_DOCS" and I'd rather it
read something likek "Shared Docs".
