I called the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department and learned they do not use volunteers. This is not unusual, as most big cities rely on full-time firefighters. If you want to volunteer, your best bet is to look at smaller towns. The Fire Rescue Department does have an explorer program that allows ride-alongs. You can call 786-331-4400 for more information. V, thanks a lot for making the call and posting this information. I will check with the Miami-Dade community college to see if they offer any paramedic classes. I can also try to find classes at the U of Miami nursery school. |
