I'd like to know the number of operating rooms in the U.S. Minimally,
this should include the number of hospital operating rooms, and,
ideally, the total number of operating rooms (including ORs in private
practice, etc.). Just finding the average number of ORs per hospital
is ok too. Links to sources are very important.

If you can find a source that gives the number of operating
tables/beds, I'll tip an extra $15.

Several online sources indicate that there are approximately 35,000 to
45,000 operating rooms in the United States. The average number of
operating rooms per hospital is six, according to a Gallup survey. I
have been unable to locate information about the number of operating
tables.

"In the United States, there are more than 34,000 operating rooms in
hospitals and 5,000 operating rooms in outpatient surgical centers."

"Approximately 5 to 7 percent of U.S. hospitals currently have an
intra-operative information system. With over 34,000 operating rooms
in the U.S., this represents a market sales potential of over 32,000
PCIS locations."

"On average, O.R. Directors report their hospital has approximately
six operating rooms, a majority having ten or fewer operating rooms.
One in fourteen (7%) say their hospital uses 15 or more operating
rooms. The average number of operating rooms ranged from 2.5 among
hospitals where directors are responsible for an operating budget of
less than $1 million to 10.5 among directors responsible for $3
million or more."

My Google search strategy:

Google Web Search: "10000..100000 operating rooms" "in the us" OR "in
the united states"

I hope this is helpful. If anything is unclear or incomplete, please
request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before
you rate my answer.
