Hi pkuanko,
My husband has travelled through Bahrain and was quite impressed with
the facilities. As with most international airports, foreign currency
is accepted, as are credit cards. However, if you find yourself
needing to exchange money there are currency exchange facilities
available at banks located in the Departure, Arrival, Mezzanine,
Transit and Public Areas.
See here:

Other facilities in the Transit area include:
* Restaurant Facilities, including a new fast food outlet, are located
in the Transit and Mezzanine areas.
* The Post Office in the Transit Area sells stamps, and mail is
collected twice a day. Telephones are located in all public areas.
International and facsimile facilities are available in the Transit
Area.
* Al Dana Business Centre: Opposite Gate 16 in the transit Area. The
center offers a full range of business facilities including bilingual
secretarial service, individual PCs with full access to Internet
browsing and e-mail, fax, photocopier and two conference rooms with TV
monitor and full screen.
* Baby Care/Nursery facilities are provided in the Transit Area. A
children's playroom is also available. Medical Facilities are located
in the Transit Area with a nurse in attendance. Vaccinations are also
available.

I hope this is helpful.
