I created a single A4 page doc in Landscape format on my Laptop that uses XP Home.

I then transferred it to my Desktop for printing. This uses XP Pro and
the same version of Word.

But I couldn't get it to print Landscape; everything came out Portrait
and the Landscape option wouldn't survive in the Print Menu.

I then hooked up my laptop to the printer and Voila!

No probs!

Any ideas?

Please note that H2Fb has now SOLVED this problem and he is now
entitled to use the letters 'WC' after his name, a rare honour.

There have only been two previous recipients of this award which, of
course, stands for 'Wickedly Clever'.

Hi Bryan,
Obvious answer: different software on your laptop, but I expect that
you really would like to know how to make your desktop print
correctly.

By the way, That "WC" thing would be just great to hang on the door of
our "powder room". I am envisioning a nice 4 inch medallion with the
WC in a circle that is inscribed "Google-Answers" at the top and
"Probonopublico" below (which is very appropriate for this use. ;-)
Eventually frequent visitors would excuse themselves by explaining
that they had to go "google".

Hi Myo

Many thanks for your Comment.

I don't often do Landscape stuff except on Spreadsheets and they work fine.

It's truly bizarre but obviously I can live with the problem by
hooking up my Laptop.

All the Best

Hi Probono

I had a similar problem when landscape stopped printing for no apparent reason.
Downloading and installing (or it may have been reinstalling the same
version as I forget the file dates) the latest printer drivers from
maufacturer's website fixed it in a jiffy. I find deleting the printer
from Printers and Faxes and starting again from scratch generally
works best. Of course YMMV.

Of course, Hardtofindbooks or H2Fb for short!

Will try that right away.

(Is H2Fb a chemical formula? Hydrogen Fluobenzine, maybe? Must check
this with Monroe22-ga, he's got a chemistry set. He's also sure to
know whether or not you are a dangerous chemical.)

Many thanks!

(If this works you will have out-researched the mighty 500.)

Hi H2Fb

Solved!

I didn't even have to download a new driver, I just re-installed the printer.

As you will see from my Clarification (above), your efforts have been
duly recognised in GaGa Land.

Many thanks!

All the Best
