Can anyone read the artist's name on this oil painting? I've got to get rid of it, should I try to sell it on ebay or donate it to charity (is it worth anything)? http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-2/1151101/Siggy1.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-2/1151101/fullpaint.jpg |

I am no art expert, but this looks to me like a mass-produced painting that is likely to have little resale value. We have a similar painting above our mantelpiece that my late father-in-law bought for $35. He bought it at a touring sale which offered thousands of pieces of "sofa-sized art." Many of the paintings, while technically "original," were virtually identical to one another. |

I have to agree. For a while in Germany, there was a TV series (probably a PB rerun) by a very personable American who talked one through painting something like that in half an hour. Very interesting to see his techniques. |

There have been a few public broadcasting artists, but the one that most people are thinking of is Bob Ross. I searched for his best known phrase "happy trees", and found a few links. |
