Hi there,

I'm trying to create an outline in MS Word 2003. On all my other
computers, when I'm in an outline and I hit TAB, it indents whatever
line I'm on...and makes it a subheading. So if the line was "2." it
just became "a." - and then to move it back to the left, I need to hit
SHIFT+TAB. Well, on one of my computers, when I hit TAB in an
outline...it doesn't change the numbering at all, but just moves the
text over (all of the numbers stay lined up in a column on the left).
If I hit the INDENT toolbar button it works, but the usual "TAB"
button isn't working. I've looked at every setting I know of, and
can't find why TAB isn't being recognized the right way.

Can you tell me what I need to change so that hitting TAB in an
outline will indent the text and create a subheading/subbullet?

This should be easy for you MS Word experts out there!

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I just figured it out - no need to answer. After hunting around even
more - I found some obscure "AutoCorrect/AutoFormat" setting that
needed to be turned on. Now it's working fine. Thanks anyway! :)
