Question ID: 448564
I am looking for a list of the largest business and technology
oriented "application service providers" that sell their services on a
subscription basis, along with the following information where
available

Name of Provider:
Public or Private: If public, a ticker symbol
Revenue from ASP operations: For last quarter & For last year (if available)
Number of Subscribers: (last period for which information is available)
Number of Subscriber added in the last period for which information is available
A brief one line description of what the company does

To get you started here are samples of names I am interested in
Salesforce.com (NASDAQ: CRM), Webex (WEBX), Microsoft LiveMeeting,
Rightnow, Netsuite, AtROAD (ARDI). Note the inclusion of AtRoad in
this list - their services are mostly offered as a subscription. An
interesting inclusion will be Bloomberg and Reuters trading terminals
in the financial industry which are sold on a subscription basis.

The list does not have to be exactly correct - I am looking for a list
of substantial players in the space. I have previously seen such a
list from one of the research firms.

(When done, if you can provide the answer in a CSV (comma seperated)
format that would be great. I would then be able to put it into a
spreadsheet)

As to how many names would be acceptable- atleast 25.

push-ga,

I suspect that sales/subscriber information is kept proprietary at
most companies, and not readily available.

Still, there are certainly lists of the main players in the ASP world.
Is something like this helpful to you at all:

=====

http://www.aspnews.com/top50/article.php/11307_3415691_2

This is the list of companies that, in the view of ASPnews, are the
world's 25 leading service providers. For inclusion, companies must
meet the following criteria:

--Have the provision of network-based applications and/or services as
their core business
--Have a substantial and active end-user customer base for those services
--Be able to demonstrate proven revenue streams
--Be innovators in the online delivery of software-based services
--Be recognized as a leader by others within the industry

=====

Let me know what you think.

Hello Pafalafa

Thanks for you interest in digging into this.

For the list to be useful for my purposes, it should have some
indication of revenue, subscriber and growth numbers for a bulk of
them- either self reported in the case where companies are public or
guestimated by some other research organization for a recent period. I
realize that this information may not be available in all cases, but
even in the URL you cite they did manage to make the selected one Top
25 - hopefully on a similar objective criteria.

A barebone list would not be that interesting.
