I'm working on some HD animations in 3dMax and After Effects. All the
source materials for the animations will originate from 3dmax or AE.
As far as resolution is concerned, I'm outputting 1920x1080. What I'm
not sure about is the frame rate and field rendering. The animations
are for general use but I'm not sure if it's better for me to go the
1080i or 1080p route. I've seen that a lot of people prefer
progressive. If I go the 1080p route, is it ok for me to just render
out my animation at 1920x1080, 30fps with field rendering off? How
would fps and field settings change if I wanted to render this out to
1080i? If I'm using fields which one should render first for HD? If
these animations will be used with footage shot at 60i which setting
would work best?

From my overall research it seems as if there is still a lot debate
over these formats. Any light that could be shed on this would be
greatly appreciated.
