I have a setup question for multi-track recording using my DDX3216 mixer.
How does one monitor a track while recording a new track, without
recording both back into Cubase?
I have an RME dsp9632, one ADT1616 (light pipe for mixer) and Cubase VST/32.
The only way I've been able to do this is to turn one stereo channel
all the way down and set the recording channel to record mono on the
opposite channel. Surely there is a better way? Could I do some
creative routing with the MMX? How do I route just the analog input
to the sound card for recording without also sending the SPDIF input
(whick connected to the sound card output). I use the DDX inserts for
external
effects a lot too.
I need a step-by-step process for mixer software settings and any
appropriate Cubase settings, maybe a diagram and the basic physical
patches between the hardware. Thanks! todd
