I am trying to buy the literary rights for the book "Magic Minerals"
by Carlson Wade, but can not find who holds them? I am asking for
contact information for the literary agent or person who holds these
rights. |

Chillyb-ga:
Registered in 1997, the owner seems to be Lanitzky, David Aaron,
according to the copyright office.
However, getting information on Mr. Lanitzky is rather difficult. If
you want, I can try to hunt down the author, and see if I can procure
information about the current owner that way. The author seems to be
fairly prominent, and he may have a good idea how to get in touch with
the gentleman who is now the current owner. Unfortunately, the
copyright office is of little help in actually getting -addresses-.
*Sigh*
I'll keep trudging along, but I figured I'd share that little bit o'
knowledge with the researchers who may be able to procure personal
infromation better than I.
Good luck,

I also noticed Mr. Latinzky in the copyright registration for the
book, but I don't think he's the current owener, I think he was the
one who registered the book for copyright. Carlson wrote many many
books on various topics, he died in 1993. I was only able to find one
memorial article about him in the Parker National Health Bulletin --
it did not mention anyone who survived him. He's definitely known,
but there is very little personal information on him anywhere. I've
done extensive research.
Almost all of the publishing companies he worked with went out of
business, and his own company Global Communications Corp. was sold to
the National Enquirer in the late 90's. They have no record of any of
his books, as far as I can tell - but that was a difficult channel for
me.
Basically, I think rights to most of his books have fallen to his
closest relative (wife, son, nephew)... And I guess that's what I
need information on.

By "literary rights" do you mean publishing rights, i.e. the right to
republish the book, or do you mean the copyright, i.e. the ownership
of the intellectual property? They are different things, for example
The Da Vinci Code's publishing rights are held by Doubleday, but the
copyright is held by Dan Brown.
