Happy New Year to all.

There are about 30 minutes left in 2004 for me. I thought it
appropriate to send my best wishes to all before the year ends.

No need to respond unless you particularly wish to. No need for lots
of responses. This is no competition. Just know that I have
appreciated our combined thoughts. I like to think of arguments as
"deliberations". Some points raised are not designed for argument, but
to further entice your very own points of reference. From you I learn.
I trust that I might somehow reciprocate.

I am aware too that this is not a chat-site. The fine line becomes
rather broad after "meeting" attractive minds. I thank the GA
creators, researchers and like-minded questioners and commentors for
accepting and challenging my own input to this fantastic medium of
knowledge exchange.

Thanks for being you .. whomever you may be.

Phil

A very happy Happy New Year to you, Phil! To ensure that this is
viewed as a Bona Fide Question, I am posting an Offical Answer to it.

As I write this, many of my GA friends have entered 2005, and I am
still stuck in 2004, waiting for that magic moment when Regis Philbin
(a last-minute Dick Clark substitute) will coax a lighted ball to come
down a pole in Times Square. I am always a bit worried that the ball
will get stuck, and we'll all have to live the old year over again. At
least, if we did that, we could make new mistakes rather than
repeating the same ones. ;-)

May God bless us, every one.

Phil,

Regarding your question (in the Comments section) about how to return
to the Google Answers homepage after a GA search:

What I do is click "My Account" in the upper right of the page. The
"My Account" page has a link to the Google Answers homepage, and that
link is in the same position on the new page, so it's click (pause)
click, and I'm home.

There may well be a more elegant way to do this, but I am a clumsy and
slow old thing, and this suits me just fine. ;-)

Pink,

I'll allow you to spend the $2 on a packet of upgraded cashews for an
answer to this:

G**gle Answers Home
Enter say "Silver777" or whatever
Scroll through a few pages

How do I come back to G**gle Answers Home without having to
continuously hit the "back" icon?

G**gle Answers Home disappears as an option when you specify an entry.
The bottom of the page gives me the option of G**gle home. But I don't
want to go there, I just want to go back to G**gle Answers Home to
view all questions.

Happy chewing, Phil

Easy for me, Phil ... but Pink may be struggling with this.

Just make 'Google Answers' your Home Page!

Hi Bryan and Pink,

Now why did I not think of that Bryan? As usual I enjoy your
simplistic approach to seemingly complex dilemmas. Your logic, wit and
good humour hold me steadfast as your understudy in perpetuity. No I'm
not joking, I have a lot to learn from you.

However .. my homepage seems to be stuck on "http://any-find.com/index.htm"

It's been there for months and the usual virus eradicators don't even
seem to nibble at it. Changing and re-booting only revert to the same.
Sounds like I might have to re-install the lot, God forbid.

Pink .. Thanks, yes your suggestion works. Would you be so kind as to
ask the creators of the site to include "G**gle Answers Home" as an
option of use even when using the selection response?

To go to "My Account" is fine, but would a new user like me know that?

Thanks again for your help.

Kind regards, Phil
