Since yesterday, when I open an Outlook Express email, it comes up
minimized rather than full screen, so I have to take an extra step to
maximize it.  Please advise.

Hi rosieh,

Try this:

Drag the corners of the window until it completely fills the screen.
Do not use the maximize button to enlarge the window.
Close the window. 
Outlook Express emails should now open in a full window.
