Following the 1940 battle of the River Plate which British navy men
were awarded medals and what were they?  Was there a seaman named Hyde amongst them?

Dear bunny12-ga,
My research reveals that many of the crews of HMS Ajax, Achilles and
Exeter were awarded the DSC, DSM or CGM, or mentioned in dispatches. I
cannot see the name Hyde mentioned. Have you his full name and the
name of the ship in which he served, or any other information?
If it answers your question, I can also refer you to a newspaper
article on the various medals presented. You would have to access it
through your local/county library providing you are based in the UK.
