I recently noticed that the F6 key on my keyboard was not working. What is perplexing, is that I have tried both a conventional and a USB keyboard, resetting, cleaning out the key, etc, and it still will not work. With Logitech's game profiler that comes with all of their joysticks you can map macro's to various keys. Normally if you press a button it shows a press/release combination, but for my F6 key it only shows a release, and doesn't register the press. Given the fact that this is affecting multiple keyboards of multiple types, I believe this must be a software problem. |

Check that F6 hasn?t been allocated to a shortcut within any other program -- especially Word. Allocations can be global. Best |

If this is a problem I would get somebody to check that out or buy a new keyboard for $10-$20. |

Guzzi-ga, It looks like that isn't the problem either. I've never setup a shortcut in word/excel, but I double-checked anyways with no result. Jimmy - I've tried it with several keyboards, its not the physical peice of hardware, its something OS or software related. |
