Question ID: 449732
how do I form a 'seek' question the aim of which is to find a name
within a 'larger' name; e.g., within 'Erwin Rommel' listings, there
should be a name of 'Major Sprosser', his commanding officer in WW1?

Howdy roy547-ga,

A search on Google such as ...

... will get you the results of where Rommel entries also include the
listings that mention Sprosser.

If that answers your question, I will be more than happy to post it as
such. Otherwise, perhaps you could go into more detail on what you are
trying to accomplish. Thanks!

Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher

Roy,

Please also note that the search results page for a Google search
includes a link to "Search within results" at the bottom of the page.

You can search on [ Erwin Rommel ], get the results, and then conduct
a second search within the results for [ Major Sprosser ] using the
"Search within results" option.

The overall results are likely to ve very similar to the option that
denco-ga mentioned above.

Happy new year.

Your answers to my Rommel/Sprosser question was outstanding! (and
without clarification). Two answers with really operative information.
This was my first try with Google Answers and I am a believer! (by the
way, 'nested seeks' is how us old guys with 1960's search experience
on BIG hard drives {in physical size} used to phrase this kind of
question). Thanks again and happy new year.
