I am interested in the electronic components needed for remote control transmitting and receiving. I need the approximate size, approximate lowest price (both individual and bulk), and a few suggested supplier/manufacturers that can supply in bulk at the those prices. Since I am wanting to wire these components into other units, I only need the sending/receiving units and not remote control pads and other equipment designed to do more than I need. The units in question must be of sufficient power to send and receive a simple signal inside of an average size house. |

As you are looking for area rather than line-of-sight coverage, you will need radio rather than infra-red applications. Licenced apparatus and frequencies for this application will depend on your jurisdiction. For the UK, www.maplin.co.uk click on Products > Toys and Kits > Projects > RF Modules The manufacturer of some of the Maplin products are RF Solutions, http://www.rfsolutions.co.uk/acatalog/products.html Owain |

I do a lot of RF remote control. I've used transeivers from the following web sites. You may find them useful. www.linxtechnologies.com/ www.ratiotronix.com -Ed |
