I have some added information: He was born May 26,1987 and apparently
died in October 1975. His social Security No. was 559-01-4018 and it
was issued in California before l951. We are interested in learning
where he was born, if he had siblings, children, or a wife. Thank you
very much.

"You can obtain a copy of the actual application form of a deceased
person from the Social Security Administration. The application form
includes the person's name, date and place of birth, and parents'
names that were given when he or she applied for the Social Security
number. For more information, go to Social Security Online":

However, according to this webpage:
"Many records of older individuals, primarily those born in 1910 or
earlier, are abbreviated records that do not contain the names of the
individual's parents and may not contain the place of birth. You will
be charged the cost of searching our records for a numident even if we
are unable to locate any information on the person you are asking
about. The fee for searching our records is $16 when the SSN is known
and $18 when the number is unknown or is incorrect."
