We are remodeling the small kitchen in our 1887 Victorian home (City Monument and on National Register of Historic Places). We would like the refrigerator/freezer to look like a historic ice box. We would like it to be no wider than 24 inches, and would like to face the doors so that they match the cabinetry we will be custom building - with flush mounted doors to match existing cabinets (with no toe kick), so preferrably less than about 28 inches deep. We have tried searching for "narrow refrigerator" or "built in refrigerator", but have come up with nothing close to what we're looking for. |

If you want to consider another alternative, you could shop restored vintage refrigerators (and other appliances) at http://antiqueappliances.com |

After we posted our original question, we found the antiqueappliances website. We should have stated that we also have an antique range that we had restored. We've recently replaced it with a Heartland reproduction stove so we could have the modern conveniences (and safety). For a refrigerator, we'd also like to be modern, but look like an antique icebox. The realgoods refrigerator mentioned above would fit our limited space, but we'd have to replace the door with a custom made one. We may still do that. We also found Roseland Icebox Co's website www.iceboxes.com, which seems to be exactly what we're looking for... ...if the price isn't too steep. does anybody know of any other such companies? |

You can try here. But may I suggest customizing your own cabinet doors. If you have anyone in your family that is good with there hands this task shouldnt be to hard. You could measure it then make the design then remove the handle off of your fridge a glue the new cover over the old one. This is just a thought anyways. http://www.northlandnka.com/designer/index.html |

Have you thought about buying one from the UK market, it may not be as expensive as you would expect. The UK market does have narrower kitchen appliances. try here at our web site http://www.discount-appliances.co.uk |
