I need the date of a Time Magazine article re the ouster of Edward
Eyring as President of New Mexico Highlands University,Las Vegas, New
Mexico. I think the article appeared in a weekly Time edition in Feb,
1952.Possibly Jan. or March,1952

article is in 1952 circa Jan-March,.Probably Feb. Any chance you can

Hello ned-ga.

The Times online archive commences in 1985 on the Internet, so I could
not locate the article for you although I did email the Times Magazine
to inquire about it.

I did find some interesting information for you including the correct
year of 1954 rather than 1952.

It appears that Dr. Eyring and his wife were killed in an auto
accident in 2002.

"TEGUCIGALPA -The U.S. Ambassador in Honduras, Frank Almaguer and the
Embassy Community deeply lament the tragic death of Dr. Edward Eyring,
Director, Gospel Rescue Mission, and Mrs. Mary James Eyring who were
killed in a motor vehicle accident near Pena Blanca in Honduras. A
Honduran associated with their missionary organization was also
killed.

Dr. Eyring's Organization was working in Honduras bringing medical
brigades to the country. The Gospel Rescue Mission provided
employment, training, drug rehabilitation and mentoring opportunities
to the homeless, disadvantaged and needy in the D.C. Area.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Dr. and
Mrs. Edward Eyrin.
May 16, 2002"

of Regents of the New Mexico Normal Univ.

Therfore, the Time Magazine article is probably 1954.

Thanks Brad-ga--The Edward Eyring that was killed in 2000 in Honduras
is a relative of the Edward Eyring that was President of New Mexico
Highlands University.The Eyring family is very prominient in Utah and
in the Mormon Chuch.The Edward Eyring I'm referening  would be over a
100 years old if living. The year of the TIME ARTICLE is 1952-Circa
Feb. The lawsuit you cited(1954) is a carry over of the
controversy.I'm just looking for the date of the Time magazine that
had an article regarding the ouster of Eyring by the New Mexico State
Police from his office at New Mexico Highlands University (
Legally--New Mexico Normal Univ.). I'd look myself but I don't have
access to the PERIODICAL REVIEW OF LITERATURE for those years. NED-ga
