Sometime earlier this year (I believe) I heard an interview with a
children's book author/illustrator. The memory is a little fuzzy--but
here's what I think I recall:

1) He worked primarily as an illustrator but may have done some
writing too, or worked with his wife who did writing.
2) He grew up in Chicago.
3) He had a complicated relationship with his father.
4) I think (but not sure) the interview was on Fresh Air (maybe All
Things Considered?)

I'm looking for the name of the artist and a link to the interview
would be great too.

Thanks!
