Question ID: 450640
How long is training at Pensacola for a U.S. Marine with a 6300 MOS
(avionics) from the first day of school (at pensacola) until that
marine joins the FMF (fleet marine force).

There is a general avionics course that all must take, but then the
MOS gets split up as each marine is assigned to a specific kind of
aircraft. I would like to know all the options and possibilities.

Here is a litte more information about the training process.

A marine recriut first goes to MCRD for basic training, otherwise
known as boot camp. That alone is 3 months approx. Then if the marine
is in the 03xx he goes to SOI (school of infantry) for 8 weeks and
that is his job school. If the job of the marine is something other
than infantry, he or she goes to MCT which is 4 weeks of Marine Combat
Training, and then from there there "job school" which is what this
particular question is about. The avionics school is one of, if not
the longest job school in the Marine Corps. I would imagine somewhere
between 6-9 months not including the basic Marine training before
that.
