5 INS(Indian Naval Service) ships. With a few choppers on them. About 100 tonnes of aid. with the aid totalling 25million$(excluding transport/logistical costs) said Ms.Kumaratunga. Most of this aid was despatch immediately after the tsunami hit. The government has not let out more info on this though. |

for the Maldives as well, Indian Naval ships and choppers were sent. dont know the quantum of aid, but afaik India has some treaty obligations with Maldives and is close to the administration/peopl, so I guess it should have been a substantiative sum. To Indonesia, India has sent 2 relief ships with one being converted to a mobile hospital. Thats the data available, now. |
