This sounds like an IP problem, ask.com has it?s IP Range on 192.***.***.***, There?s no problem with this, however, the private IP range is 192.168.***.*** This coincidence which may be the route of your problem Sometimes when people are trying to secure access to their networks they block the private network range e.g 192.168.***.*** In your case you may have blocked access to the whole range 192.***.***.*** Does your DSL modem/router have an interface e.g http://192.168.0.1 ? |

I had this same problem with a few websites awhile back. I had to run "winipcfg" and release the IP addresses and then renewed all of them and I was able to visit the sites that I had previously been unable to. I hope this helps. |

I am not familiar with the sbcyahoo router; however, all DSL routers work on the same basic principal. Log into your interface, the username and password would have came with the routers documentation. Look for a filters menu, this should contain a ?Mac filter?, Inbound IP filter?, ?Outbound IP Filter? and ?Domain filter? Check the Domain filter for ask.com, if that is empty then disable the filters and see if it works then. |

Open command prompt and type ping ask.com and see what reply you get. If it says host not found then it means your DNS server has some problems. It is also possible that to promote yahoo's own search engine, yahoo might have blocked ask.com on its own DSL. If yahoo did this then you need to call at their customer support and get this issue resolved. If yahoo has disabled it, then you can use anonymizer.com website and you can buy their proxy package and surf the ask.com through them if your ISP blocks you. - Akash Kava Our free IMAP/POP3 service at http://www.evenmail.com |

if reply of ping is "request timed out" that means yahoo or any firewall has blocked it. if ping reply is "host not found" that means your or yahoo's dns server has problems. |
