Can you recommend a good electrician in San Francisco?  We have some moderate
electrical work to do (installation of a programmable thermostat,
moving a chandelier between rooms, and installing a motion-enabled
light in a garage).   I would like to get a quote from a proven,
reasonably-priced electrician.

Bay Area Consumers' Checkbook evaluates local services and had an
article on electricians on the Spring/Summer 2004 issue, Volume 10,
number 3.  The listing was not very extensive, but they did list two
firms that serve San Francisco and are top-rated for quality:

Electric Bill's was also top-rated for price.
