I only desire to know the best way to locate NEWLY opened restaurants
in my area, which is San Mateo County, California in this case.

I hope this clarifies my question.

To answer deu-ga's question - the event is actually a reception to
conlude the previos fundraising year and to kick-off the next year.

But, again, I just want to know the best way to locate newly opened
restaurants in my area.

There is no answer at this time.

Well first off, I think asking for appetizers might not be the best
idea. What type of fundraiser are you planning exactly? With such
little detail it is hard to give much advice.

It's really disappointing that I can't get an answer to my $5 question.

How do I locate NEW restaurants in San Mateo County, California?
