I am trying to find the name of a movie I saw as a kid in 1964. I saw
it on television so was made prior to 1964. In the movie, a wealthy
man pays a guy to marry his dying daughter. After the honeymoon, she
finds out, but the husband says he now truly loves her. He realized
that he loved when he lost her in the mist for a few seconds when they
took a boat ride at Niagra falls. That is all I can remember.
Thanks!

Hello.

It sounds like you're describing "Invitation" (1952), starring Dorothy
McGuire and Van Johnson.

From AMC:

"...Through a series of flashbacks, we learn that she has a terminal
heart condition and that her father paid her husband to marry her.
After she confronts her husband, Johnson, he admits the plot but says
he has learned to love her truly."

From the Internet Movie Database:

"Always believing she had a happy marriage, a young wife's trust in
her husband is shaken when she discovers that her father had paid him
to marry her."

Additional description from the New York Times / All Movie Guide:

"Dorothy McGuire stars as Ellen Bowker, a wealthy young woman with a
rare heart condition. Knowing that his daughter may have only a year
or so to live, Ellen's father Simon Bowker (Louis Calhern) wants to
make certain that her last months on earth will be happy ones. To that
end, he arranges for Dan Pierce (Van Johnson) to marry the girl. More
interested in Ellen's millions than in Ellen herself, Dan agrees.
Eventually, of course, he genuinely falls in love with the girl. But
trouble looms on the horizon when Ellen discovers the real reason
behind Dan's whirlwind courtship."

I need help finding a movie please. I don't have much to go off
regarding the plot but I would say it was made in 70's or 80's.
Remember it was set in a Chinese Laundromat. It was a horror movie or
something and people were going missing from an apartment block or
something and being murdered and you would hear the laundry trolley
squeaking down the corridors of the hotel right before someone was
about to be killed. It is a movie my sisters and I watched about
15years ago and we have been wondering what it was called. Can anyone
help??
