Hello oc, I received replies to my e-mails. Both of my contacts have graciously allowed me to post their replies. * * * Tammy Taylor: [first reply] I don't personally know of any triplets in Queen Creek, but I'm sure there are some. Is this guys niece under the care of PPA (Phoenix Perinatal Associates)? They seem to handle most of the high risk pregnancies in the Phoenix and surrounding areas, and could probably put her in touch with some others who are in her same condition. I know when I delivered my triplets, there was another set born to a family who lives in the same general area as me a day or two later. As for help from local businesses... I never found any, but then I was pretty overwhelmed and didn't think to look prior to the birth of my children. One very helpful hint for her would be to make sure she asks for formula samples from every doctor that she sees, every time she sees them (even prior to birth). It's amazing the amount of food three kids can go through! As a general rule of thumb, triplet (or other high order pregnancies) are put on bed rest at about 20 weeks in the hopes of preventing preterm labor, so she could probably let her fingers do the walking and contact every business etc. while she's pn bed rest-- it would help the time go by faster, and she may find local businesses willing to help her out. It's really hard to know what direction to give when I don't really know this womans situation: for example does she have other children? what about family in the area? is she experiencing any complications? etc. Probably the best advice to give her would be to contact a mothers of multiples group (there are a lot of them in the area), and have her talk to her doctor, as they may know of support groups she could join also. Sorry I don't have any first hand knowledge in the areas you asked about, but hopefully I've you (and her) a place to start. [follow-up reply] I am actually president of the Busy Bees Mothers of Multiples group, and we will be holding a meeting on Thursday the 20th at the APS building in Gilbert... We are having a pharmacist (who is also a father of multiples) as a speaker to answer any questions those in attendance may have, so she may want to come out and join us if she is feeling up to it. * * * Angela McCullough: Yes there are triplets/triplet families in Queen Creek( off the top of my head I can think of 3 families). I am not sure about getting help from local businesses in Queen Creek. You could go to the city, but I really don't know????It is a little hard to answer when I don't know what kind of assistance is needed. I am unaware of any of the other families getting assistance specifically from the town of Queen Creek. I would recommend multiplejoys@yahoo.com or www.tripletconnection.org (nationally) for help. * * * As noted, Ms. Taylor is president of Busy Bees Mothers of Multiples Club, whose membership area includes Queen Creek. Information about the club is at the top right of this page: "Clubs & Locations" ASMOMO [Arizona State Mothers of Multiples Organization] http://www.asmomo.org/locations.html Ms. McCullough is from Multiple Joys, a support group for families of triplets, quadruplets, or more in Arizona. Multiple Joys http://www.geocities.com/multiplejoys/ I hope that this information is helpful. - justaskscott I used the following search terms on Google: triplets "queen creek" "arizona state mothers of multiples" "multiple joys" |
