I would like to know the command format and communication protocol
between a floppy disk drive and the drive controller (on a PC).
Basically, I want to know the format of data that is sent over the
cable between the floppy disk drive and controller in a PC.

The controller encodes the bits using MFM
(http://www.storagereview.com/guide2000/ref/hdd/geom/dataMFM.html)
into a fluctuating voltage, which it sends down pin 22.

The drive head (an electromagnet) aligns the magnetic media into
North-South when the voltage is high, or South-North when the voltage
is low (I might have that backwards).
