shopping comparison sites in 2002. In 2003, the figure rose to 15%.

account for 1.5 percent of all shopping. According to Forrester
Research in five years online shopping will account for 10 percent of

Tamim Mourad, CEO of PriceGrabber estimates that the big four
shopping-comparison sites earnt $150 million to $200 million in
combined revenue in 2003 and that revenue will double in 2004 and

visitors visited one or more comparison sites last August ? up 34%
from the previous year.

It seems to me a million websites do occasional product searches along
with other things ie www.answers.google.com  Can you clarify?

No, I'm refering to the specific category of product sales search
sites, such as  Shopzilla, Shopping.com, PriceGrabber, Nextag,
Froogle, Dulance, etc., etc., and others. I am not refering to the
fact that I can google some product name and find it.
